UNDERSTANDING HORMONE THERAPY
Our bodies produce hormones through the endocrine system to regulate cell behavior, including cell proliferation. For instance, Human Growth Hormone (HGH) modulates muscle mass and body fat levels under specific conditions. However, in some cases, hormones inadvertently support the proliferation of cancer cells, contributing to their unchecked growth. Hormone therapy intervenes by suppressing hormonal activity, preventing cancer cells from exploiting these signals and significantly decelerating cancer progression.
