Travel Advice Planning Your Paradise Escape

Planning your escape to paradise at Miskawaan Retreats? We're thrilled to welcome you and can't wait to share the transformative power of Koh Samui with you. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey, we've compiled some essential travel information to guide you.

Entry Requirements

Visa requirements can vary depending on your nationality. Please check with your local Thai embassy or consulate well in advance to determine if you need a visa and how to obtain it.

We recommend checking for any necessary vaccinations or health checks required for travel to Thailand.

Of course, the Miskawaan Team will gladly provide support wherever possible throughout this process. We pride ourselves on making your stay with us as easy and stress as possible!

Getting to Koh Samui

The most convenient way to reach Koh Samui is by air. Bangkok Airways is the only airline with direct flights to Koh Samui Island (USM). We recommend booking your flights directly through Bangkok Airways website: www.bangkokairways.com

For your utmost ease and comfort, the Miskawaan Team will provide help with your flight booking as part of your customer journey with us. If you run into any issues or have any inquiries, feel free to reach out to us and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Airport Transfer

Upon arrival at Koh Samui Airport, breathe easy and let us take care of the rest. Miskawaan Retreats offers complimentary private airport pick-up for all our guests. Look for a member of our friendly team waiting for you at the designated arrival point upon exiting customs.

Please note: confirmation details regarding pick-up arrangements will be provided upon finalizing your retreat booking.

Weather and Packing Tips

Koh Samui enjoys a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round. Pack light, breathable clothing like cotton or linen to ensure maximum comfort in the sunshine.

Swimming attire, sandals, a hat, and sunglasses are essential for enjoying the island’s stunning beaches.

Don’t forget sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout your retreat!

Currency Exchange

The local currency in Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB). You can exchange your currency before arrival or upon reaching Koh Samui. There are currency exchange counters at the airport and throughout the island.

Local Customs and Etiquette

A friendly smile and a respectful “wai” (placing your hands together in a prayer-like gesture) are common greetings in Thailand. When visiting temples, opt for modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees. These small gestures go a long way in respecting local customs and enhancing your cultural experience.
